PROBLEM STATEMENT
BOOM offers a great solution for business owners who want to manage their own custom plans. One of the main requests of these users is to have more customization capabilities and get personalized assistance. One problem that has often been mentioned on the internal side is the ability to manage custom plans without constraints. My goal was to find a solution to manage custom plans taking into account all the constraints given by the monetization structure, such as, geographic areas, currency, credit management and billing.
SOLUTION
Redesign the customer page in platform, adding all the information dedicated to the custom plan, trial period, units and billing.
APPROACH
Starting with the information already in the platform to enter the customer profile, I interviewed the Sales Team to understand which ones to enter for custom plan management, modify it, manage billing and trial period.
RESEARCH METHOD
PROTOTYPING AND DEVELOPMENT
I created a clickable prototype in Figma for some usability testing with the Sales Team to validate the information and user experience. Once the test data was collected, I dialogued with the Technical Team for usability guidance and possible MVP discussion.
The pre-existing information architecture and additional information required a high level of effort from the developers. The possibility of different payments increased the difficulty of updating them.
LEARNING
The management of an internal platform-side Saas plan must talk to multiple teams, have clear and versatile information. In this case study, I learned how much knowledge of the information architecture and mechanisms that legally manage subscription plans.
